Overall Aim of the Diploma

The overall aim of the programme is to enable participants to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to become practitioners of Reflexology. This includes the development of individual strengths and skills in the area of Reflexology.


Learning Objectives

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to comprehend the workings of:
  • The healthy human body through a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology,
  • The sick body through basic understanding of illness and disease,
  • Identify Reflex Points in the feet and treat tender areas when necessary, being aware that working on these reflexes systematically with skilled pressure and manipulation has three main effects:
    1. It induces state of relaxation,
    2. It improves nerve function, lymph and blood supply,
    3. It brings about normal functioning of the organs and glands of the body.
  • Apply a holistic health philosophy in their therapeutic approach. In particular, they will be aware of the complex interaction between mind, body and spirit, and it’s effects on the individual,
  • Identify and utilise their personal resources - positive self-awareness is vital for health and healing.
